“Going into 8th grade” is scrawled on the back of my first landscape, which marked the beginning of my commitment to painting grounded in an innate love of the outdoors, light and strong visual dynamics. My paintings are reflections of the light that arrests my eye in everyday life whether on a hillside or a cheekbone. I love to use the physicality of paint and the wonder of color to capture the interplay of light and darkness and the wonder of the world.
